Hey everyone! I can’t believe summer is here this week. We’re so excited for so many fun plans…Summer camps, vacation, pool time, too many popsicles and ice cream, and sun! Since we had a newborn last summer, we didn’t have many plans, however; this summer we may be a little overbooked. 😉 But, bring it on. We had a blast celebrating Owen turning THREE and Arabelle turning ONE a few weekends ago! Since Owen’s birthday is in April and her’s is June 1, we decided a good middle point would be a Cinco de Mayo celebration. My parents were able to come in for this and we celebrated with Owen and Arabelle’s little friends. This was my favorite party to plan! We had it from 11 am- 1pm with tacos and face paint! The face painter/balloon artist was a huge hit! We lucked out with a beautiful day and we really enjoyed every moment. We set up the small jump house, kids played and got their faces painted, and we ate and had cake. I used a small bakery that we love called Devils Food Bakery and they made a delicious, confetti cake for Owen and guests and smash cake for Arabelle. Poor Arabelle either wasn’t a huge fan of the cake or she did not like the attention ;-).
We had such a fun time celebrating our sweet Owen and Arabelle. Below are some links to my decor for this Cinco de Mayo theme. We’re really looking forward to this summer with a one, three and five year old! Happy Summer time everyone!
I bought these flag banners and hung them zig-zagged across the patio, and absolutely loved them!
I also bought these Fiesta table cloths and mini donkey pinatas for the taco bar and appetizers tables.
For the appetizers, I did homemade churros with chocolate syrup. I found the recipe here. The kids absolutely loved these, and I would definitely make them again! We also made fruit salad (fiesta fruit), chips and guacamole, and watermelon. Bebidas (drinks) included water and corona. I love making little signs for the food tables.
I also love to re-use these birthday signs for the parties that I bought a few years ago in the dollar section at Target. In addition, I print out fun pics of the kids in their birthday gear as well!
I love these adorable goodie bags, however, they aren’t available anymore, sorry! Owen loved stuffing the goodie bags for the guests with these fun goodies: fiesta stickers, crayon sticks, braided bracelets, fiesta stamps.
We also did a fun guessing game, “Guess how many Hot Tamales?” And the winner won a sombrero!
Lastly, my favorite decor of the party was this wall of monthly pics for Arabelle with these colorful paper fans. I also did yearly pictures of Owen!
Finally, here are some family pics from the awesome party! Owen’s “Tres shirt” can be found here and Ella Rose’s fiesta dress here.
Seeing all of these pics makes me want to do this party all over again!
Hasta luego amigos!
XO Jillian
