So I’ve totally fallen off the bandwagon with this blogging and three kids deal. I just CAN’T find the time. So bear with me for a bit. I feel like we’re finally at a good place with Arabelle sleeping through the night, so I’m trying to find more “me time” to write again. So here we go. I wanted to share our story on our new home and what we did with it. The market in Denver is pretty wild, so when we found this house we knew it was something we couldn’t pass up. I was a little nervous to switch neighborhoods, but luckily we love this one as well, if not more. Our home is a “Denver Square” with a traditional layout, and space for the kids to grow, which was a huge draw. When we first looked at the home, I was a little blinded because we had our eye on this other one as well, but fate worked out and this one fell into place. Luckily, I took my blinders off with a little convincing from Brendan and fell in LOVE. We moved in TWO weeks before Arabelle came (YES, TWO WEEKS!)… But before we moved in, we decided to update the home a bit make it “ours.” We painted most of the house, besides the basement, and stained the floors darker before we moved in. The house was built in 2005, with a lot of yellow still in place, floors included. We did mostly greys around the main part of the home, navy in the bathroom (I always wanted a navy bathroom) and mudroom (to tie together), a pretty green/blue for the playroom with a chalkboard wall (the kids love letting their imagination run wild on that wall). The upstairs laundry (huge draw for me) was also painted the same green/blue (again, to tie together). We then went with the traditional light blue for Owen’s room and light pink for Ella Rosie’s room (and soon to be shared with Arabelle!). We also got a large, navy rug in the family room to tie together as well and LOVE it; so soft for the kids but looks great. It’s fun to make a home your own. We have future plans of redoing the kitchen and basement as well; But for now, we’re very happy with it. It was a pleasant surprise that this felt like home right away…which is definitely a good sign. We really do love it and are so excited for memories with our family to be made here. Here are a few pictures of the before and afters. Hope you all enjoy it!
