What to Wear when You’re Expecting

I have never been a huge fan of maternity clothes. A lot of times I find that they are frumpy or don’t fit me right. However, maybe because it is my third time around, I have discovered some gems that I wanted to share with you. These are some of my favorite “go to’s” that are reasonable, fashionable, and can be worn on a variety of occasions: date night, church, work out, hang out, etc.

Date night: I absolutely love these black leather pants. They are leather in the front and stretchy black legging material in the back. So comfy and sexy. They definitely make you feel better about yourself when you’re carrying that extra baby weight. I got them from “A Pea in the Pod.” They were on sale and definitely worth every penny. Next, I love these two tops seen below. The first on is pink lace and is actually not even a maternity shirt. However, it is one of the few “regular shirts” that I have worn up until I deliver to date nights or church. The second white top is so flowy and comfortable. I love how long it is, and it can really dress up your outfit. I love wearing it with my leather pants, but it could also be dressed down with some tighter leggings and flats as well. Both of these heels/wedges are two of my favorite pairs as well. The Toms beige wedges are so comfortable for when your feet are sore and you’re not so sure heels are worth it. I highly recommend them! I also love wearing these velvet black heels!

Church: This pink ruffled “Isabel Maternity,” sweater is one of my new favorite sweaters from Target. I just discovered this line they are carrying, and I am obsessed. Their sweaters are actually SO cute and you wouldn’t even know they are maternity. This pink sweater is from their collection, and I’ve already worn it several times to family dinners and to church. I also love this maternity pea coat from “A Pea in the Pod.” I would wear it every winter if I could because again, it is so stylish and doesn’t even look like it has to be maternity. The belt adds a cute touch accentuating your bump too! I love that they are making more clothes like this, it’s so nice and something I have been waiting for.

Work Out: I live in my maternity leggings the second my jeans feel a little bit snug. I believe I was about 9 weeks along, and I pulled them out this time around. I couldn’t wait to wear them, ha! 😉  My favorite pair to wear up until the very end of pregnancy are the Lululemon leggings. They are the most comfortable leggings ever and are so versatile. In addition, a new favorite pair of leggings are my “BLANQI” maternity leggings, I just got them for Christmas, and I am obsessed. They are perfect for a growing belly and so comfortable. I also love this cozy grey sweatshirt from Target’s “Isabel Maternity” collection as well. I love to wear this to prenatal yoga, the gym, or to the kids’ activities where we are running around.

Hang out: One of my favorite things about being pregnant in the winters is wearing big, warm sweaters with my leggings. I live in these when I am pregnant. This cozy, over-sized grey sweater has already been worn several times and is so snuggly for cold days. I also love this dark green sweatshirt from “The Loft” maternity collection. It is very flattering for your bump and so comfortable. Sometimes I dress it up with a vest, other times I wear it by itself. I also love a super comfy pair of shoes when you’re carrying that extra weight and chasing little ones around and highly recommend these UGGs. They’re waterproof too; so they are perfect for snowy, cold days!

Finally, I wanted to share this new lip gloss I was sent from “lip sense.” It goes on “wet” but then “dries” very quickly and then you put a clear top coat on. I love the top coat and the color “pink champagne” is so warm for the winter. You should definitely give it a look! Thanks Karla for sending it, she’s awesome to work with.
